1958 Fender Stratocaster

1958 Fender Stratocaster (Serial Number 024609)

This is the guitar I like to play at home, it has a great unplugged sound and I have written many songs on it. I got this guitar around the time of The Atlantics “Flight of the Surf Guitar” album but it didn’t get used until after those sessions.

I’m not a big fan of maple fingerboards but there is something about the 50s Fender maple boards that works. All in all a fun guitar to play.

  1. I have 1959 serial #36222, one of the last non laminated pickguards made. I got in 1969. Been repainted 3 times, unless they came from the factory candy apple red. Early 1960’s, then bright blue and headstock was painted blue too, around 1967-1968. In 1980 I painted it light blue, stripped headstock paint. I am missing decals of course. Sounds good, maple neck pitted. Neck may be a size narrower than standard. Good old axe!
