Martin Cilia is Australia’s premier surf rock guitarist and also a member of legendary Australian surf band, The Atlantics. He has released eight successful solo albums, with the latest “Shadowman” released in 2019.
Martin started playing in bands in the 70s while still at school in Perth, Western Australia. In 1999 Martin joined legendary Australian band ‘The Atlantics’ where he wrote and recorded several albums. In June/July 2013 he took his surf sound internationally with a tour to Europe as part of The Atlantics and in August took his own band to the USA.
When The Atlantics retired from touring in late 2013 he was invited to join Mental As Anything where he toured both nationally and internationally. He recorded an EP and live album with the band, which included a song co-written with Greedy Smith “We Get to Kiss”. The band toured constantly from 2013 – 2019, but left the road due to the untimely death of lead singer Greedy Smith. 2020 saw the release of an Australian ‘all star’ surf band album ‘North Melbourne Surf Club’ of which Martin is a member.
